BEEF KOFTA RECIPE

This simple sheet pan version of the popular Middle Eastern Beef Kofta kabobs is going to become your go-to dinner! Flavorful ground beef spread out onto a baking sheet and baked until tender and juicy and then served with all your favorite dishes. This simple sheet pan kofta recipe is perfect for weeknight dinner, hosting or for meal prep!

WHAT YOU NEED-

  • Beef– You want to use lean ground beef for this recipe; I like to stay around 85-90% lean. You can also swap the ground beef for ground lamb for a more traditional kofta recipe.
  • Oil– Adding a little bit of olive oil to the ground beef helps you get juicy, moist kofta.
  • Water– When adding water, it gives this ground beef extra juices.
  • Garlic– You can’t forget the freshly minced garlic for added flavors! Either freshly minced garlic or jarred minced garlic can be used.
  • Onion– Red or yellow onion can be used. You can either chop or grate the onions.
  • Herbs– You can use either fresh cilantro or parsley! It adds so many extra flavors!
  • Seasonings– What makes this ground beef recipe so rich and flavorful is all the seasonings that give you the perfect Mediterranean flavors! This recipe calls for salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, and coriander.

BEEF KOFTA KABOBS-

You can totally also make ground beef kabobs by adding the ground beef onto kabob sticks before baking or grilling!

  1. Preheat the oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the ground beef mixture.
  3. Take about ½ cup of beef and mold it around wooden skewers, creating a log shape. Repeat with all the meat mixture. (You can use more or less meat on each skewer, depending on preference.)
  4. Add the kabobs onto the baking sheet and bake until cooked through. Broil for a couple of minutes for extra crisp.
