HOW TO MAKE TURKEY BURGERS
Have these burger patties ready to enjoy in no time with just a few easy steps!
- Prepare by lining a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.
- Add all the ingredients for the turkey burger patties to a large mixing bowl.
- Using your hands, mix everything until seasoning is well combined. Roughly divide the patty mixture into 5 even sized balls.
- Using your hands or a patty press, shape each ball into a round patty. (You want the patty to be larger than your buns, about 4-inches in diameter, since patties shrink when they are cooked.)
- Add the shaped patties to the prepared parchment paper, repeating until all 5 patties are done.
- Cook the burger patties with the desired cooking method, on the stove top, air fryer, or on the grill. Once the burgers reach desired doneness, remove from heat and assemble burgers.
- Serve immediately with desired sides.
MAKING AHEAD AND STORING
Whether you are making these flavorful turkey burgers to enjoy right away, or preparing ahead of time for a future cookout, this recipe is perfect! Once the patties are assembled, there are several ways to store them.
- Fridge– Once the patties are shaped, add them to a parchment paper line plate or tray. (If you are stacking the burgers, add parchment paper in between.) Store in the fridge for up to 1-2 days ahead of time, only if the meat is fresh.
- Freezer– Add the patties onto a parchment paper line plate or tray, whatever fits into the freezer. Freeze for about 1-2 hours, or until the patties are firm. Transfer to an airtight container or freezer bag, stacking the patties between parchment paper. Freeze for up to 3 months. To enjoy, thaw and then cook.
COOKING METHODS
There are several different ways that you can cook homemade turkey burgers!
Grilled– The best and most popular way to enjoy burgers is during grilling season on the grill!
