WHAT YOU NEED-

  • Ground Sausage– For this recipe you want to use ground pork sausage. I like to use breakfast sausage, either hot or mild. You can also swap for chicken sausage.
  • Butter– You can use either salted or unsalted butter for this gravy recipe.
  • Flour– To thicken the gravy, use all-purpose flour.
  • Milk– The base of the creamy gravy is whole milk. I do not recommend swapping for any other milk.
  • Flavor– To season the gravy, use salt, pepper, garlic and paprika! The seasoned breakfast sausage adds the main flavors, so don’t go overboard on the seasonings.
  • Greens– Top this hearty sausage gravy with freshly chopped green onion, chives or cilantro for added flavors!
