AIR FRYER SALMON RECIPE
This easy air fryer salmon recipe gives you a flavorful dinner in no time! Fresh salmon fillets coated in oil and coated in a homemade blackening seasoning and air fryer until tender and flakey. Not only is this blackened salmon recipe easy, it’s healthy and full of flavor. Make this easy salmon recipe for busy weeknight dinner or meal prep!
WHAT YOU NEED-
- Salmon– You want to use fresh salmon fillets or buy a large slab and cut them into fillets. Any type of catch (or species) will work for this recipe. Either skin or skinless salmon can be used, I prefer skinless salmon, so I just trim off the skin.
- Oil– Either olive oil, canola oil, or even avocado oil can be used. Coating the salmon in oil before adding the seasoning helps the seasoning stick and allows the salmon to get a nice crisp when cooking!
- Seasoning– I love using my homemade blackening seasoning blend when cooking salmon! You can use a store-bought blackening seasoning or swap for Cajun seasoning, Old Bays Seasonings or any other blend you like.
- Lemon– Freshly squeezed lemon juice goes so well over cooked salmon! This is totally optional.

Yes, you can totally use frozen fillet, just thaw the night before then marinate and air fry!
Cooked, safe-to-eat salmon should have an internal temperature of 145°F. The salmon will also be opaque and it will flake easily.
Yes, marinating it overtime will result in a deeper flavored salmon! You can marinate the salmon and store in the fridge for up to 1-2 days before cooking it!
Once the salmon is cooled, transfer to an airtight container store in the fridge for 3-4 days. This is perfect for meal prep!
There is a difference! Wild caught salmon is typically caught from the fresh waters, oceans and rivers. Farm caught salmon is from salmon farms. Although both are good, wild-caught is always going to be a better option!
Once the blackened salmon is cooked and cooled, transfer it to an airtight container and store it in the fridge for 2-3 days.
