ITALIAN SUB INGREDIENTS-

  • Bread– You can use either store-bought or homemade hoagie/sub roll. I like to use plain hoagie rolls and make them rosemary parmesan flavored!
  • Mayo– Either classic mayo or chipotle mayo can be used. The viral Mikes way uses chipotle mayo.
  • Deli Meats– This hearty Italian sub has a variety of different deli meats! Deli ham, salami, pepperoni, and prosciutto or prosciuttini. This is a variety of classic Italian deli meats.
  • Cheese– This recipe calls for sliced provolone cheese. You can also swap for sliced Colby jack, Swiss, or even pepper jack cheese.
  • Fresh Toppings– For the fresh toppings this recipe calls for shredded iceberg lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced red onions, and banana peppers or pepperoncini.
  • Oil & Vinegar– You can’t forget a drizzle of olive oil and red wine vinegar
  • Seasonings– Adding some seasonings over the fresh toppings gives the sandwiches extra flavors. This recipe calls for salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Hot Pepper Relish– A key viral ingredient in this sandwich is Jersey Mike’s viral Hot Pepper Relish! I like this brand from Amazon. Adding the relish is optional.
