Blackened chicken Alfredo pasta is the ultimate dinner! This meal is made up of tender pasta and juicy blackened chicken tossed in a spice packed creamy Alfredo sauce.
This pasta is a spinoff of our classic chicken alfredo recipe!
BLACKENED CHICKEN ALFREDO
Blackened chicken alfredo is just classic chicken alfredo with blackening seasoning. The seasoning has a slight spice to it and so many other delicious flavors. The chicken is seasoned and blackened to perfection before adding the creamy alfredo sauce. This dish is so delicious and might become a favorite over the classic alfredo!
WHAT YOU NEED-
- Pasta– For this recipe we used fettuccine pasta, but you can use any other long or short pastas you prefer! Pastas-like elbow, penne, spaghetti, or angel hair can be used.
- Chicken– We pan sear our blackened chicken for this recipe, but you can also use our Air Fryer Blackened chicken for this pasta dish.
- Blackening Seasoning– You can either use store-bought blackening seasoning or use our homemade blend that tastes just as good!
- Butter– For the Alfredo sauce you can use either unsalted or salted butter.
- Garlic– Freshly minced garlic or jarred minced garlic will work just fine for the sauce.
- Flour– To help thicken the sauce, you want to use all-purpose flour.
- Milk– Either whole milk or creamer can be used to make homemade Alfredo sauce.
- Parmesan Cheese– For the best results, we recommend that you use freshly grated parmesan. You can also use the pre-grated parmesan.
- Flavor– To season the alfredo, we use salt, pepper and some blackened seasoning to give the sauce a little kick! You can use either homemade or store-bought blackening seasoning.
HOW TO MAKE BLACKENED ALFREDO
This recipe comes together so easily and makes it a great dinner during busy weeknights!
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
- Coat the chicken in oil and blackening seasoning. Heat a deep skillet with oil.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the seasoned chicken and sear until golden and blackened. Flip the chicken and reduce the heat and close with a lid to finish cooking the chicken.
- After the chicken is cooked through, remove from the skillet and cover to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt butter with garlic until the garlic is fragrant. Whisk in flour and then add the rest of the ingredients to the sauce and bring to a simmer.
- Slice the chicken into thin slices. Add the pasta and chicken to the alfredo sauce and mix to combine.
- Top with extra parmesan cheese and freshly chopped greens.
- Serve hot with desired sides.
LEFTOVER STORING & REHEATING
Leftover blackened pasta is just as good as fresh pasta! Store it properly and you can enjoy the pasta for an extra couple of days.
- Fridge– Once the pasta is cool, transfer to a container and store in the fridge for 3-4 days. This pasta is great to take to lunch the next day.
- Freezer– This pasta freezes great! Once cooled, add the pasta to a freezer safe bag or container and freeze for 3-4 months. Thaw overnight and then reheat to enjoy.
| Reheating Leftovers- When reheating, add the pasta, 1-2 Tbsp of milk and freshly shredded parmesan cheese to a skillet and cook until reheated. The added milk and cheese will help you get creamy pasta, not dry and oily pasta. |

- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese shredded
- ½ tsp salt

Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain and add back into the pot and cover to keep warm. Toss the pasta in some oil to avoid them from sticking together.

- Heat a deep skillet with oil on medium high heat.
- Once the skillet is hot, add the seasoned chicken and sear for about 4-5 minutes or until golden and blackened.
- Flip the chicken and reduce the heat to medium low and cover with a lid and cook for an additional 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. The internal temperature of cooked chicken will be 165F.
- After the chicken is cooked through, remove from the skillet and allow it to rest about 4-5 minutes on the cutting board before slicing. Slice the chicken into thin slices.

- Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked pasta and sliced chicken to the alfredo sauce and mix until well combined.
- Top with extra parmesan cheese and freshly chopped greens.
- Serve hot with desired sides.
