What is better than perfectly cooked bacon in the morning with a side of eggs or pancakes?! With these classic methods for cooking bacon, you can enjoy bacon hassle-free and less grease mess!
WHAT YOU NEED-
All you need is bacon! There are so many different cuts of bacon that you can use but our preferred is the regular-cut pork bacon that you can get at any grocery store. Here are some other great cuts you can try:

- Turkey Bacon
- Fatty Bacon
- Leaner Bacon

STORING COOKED BACON
Once the bacon is cooked you want to make sure to store it properly for long lasting bacon and the best flavors! After the bacon is cooked and cooled, store the bacon in a plastic bag or air-tight container or even wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.
- FRIDGE-Store in the fridge for up to 5 days. To Reheat: When ready to serve again, just pop in the microwave or on the stove top until warmed.
- FREEZE– Store in the frozen for up to 2-3 months. To Reheat: Throw in the microwave, air fryer, or toaster oven until reheated.
HOW TO COOK BACON ON THE STOVE
Stove top bacon is probably the most classic method of cooking bacon!
- Heat a large skillet on medium high heat.
- Add the desired amount of bacon strips into the skillet and cook on medium heat until golden on each side. Removing once you reach the desired crispiness.
BACON BITS
- Chop the bacon into small pieces and cook in a large skillet on medium high heat.
- Mic occasionally to prevent uneven cooking and cook until fully cooked.
- Add the paper-towel lined bowl and serve as desired. TIP– To avoid the bacon strips from curling, rinse them in cold water right before cooking!
HOW TO AIR FRY BACON
The air fryer method is one of the BEST methods! It is quick, clean and the bacon turns out so crispy!
- Spray the air fryer basket with baking spray to avoid the bacon from sticking.
- Add the bacon strips to the basket and cook until crispy.
HOW TO COOK BACON IN THE OVEN
Cooking the bacon in the oven is a great method when you are hosting brunch or breakfast, just throw it in the oven and prepare the rest of the brunch!
- Line a baking sheet with foil to avoid a messy clean up and preheat the oven.
- Lay out the desired amount of bacon strips onto the baking sheet.
- Cook until the desired crispiness is reached.
- Remove the bacon from the oven and transfer to a plate. To avoid greasy bacon, line the plate with a paper towel!
HOW TO GRILL BACON
You can grill bacon on a classic grill or on a flat top grill! This is great when camping, or for during the summer time to add bacon to your sandwiches.
- Heat the grill to the highest grill setting. Add foil onto the grill or on a baking sheet (creating a flat top) and add the bacon strips and cook on each side until crispy and golden.
| BACON GREASE– When cooking bacon, you end up with a lot of leftover bacon grease, you DO NOT want to throw it away! Bacon grease is such a great thing to have! Pour the bacon grease in a jar or small bowl and refrigerate. Use instead of oil or butter when cooking, SO GOOD! |
WAYS TO ENJOY BACON
There are so many different way to enjoy bacon! Here are some of our favorite ways to enjoy bacon-
- Breakfast– Serve as a side dish, or use bacon bits in your omelet, breakfast potatoes or even pancakes!
- Additive– Use the cooked bacon as an additive for brussel sprouts, baked potatoes, etc.

How to Cook Bacon (5 Methods)

Instructions
Stovetop Method-
- Heat a large skillet on medium high heat.
- Add the desired amount of bacon strips into the skillet and cook on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, removing once you reach the desired crispiness.
Bacon Bits-
- Chop the bacon into small pieces and cook in a large skillet on medium high heat.
- Mic occasionally to prevent uneven cooking and cook for about 7-8 minutes or until fully cooked. Add the paper-towel lined bowl and serve as desired.
Air Fryer Method-
- Spray the air fryer basket with baking spray to avoid the bacon from sticking.
- Add the bacon strips to the basket and cook at 400°F for 8-9 minutes, flip halfway through to ensure even cooking.
Oven Method-
- Line a baking sheet with foil to avoid a messy clean up and preheat the oven to 385°F.
- Lay out the desired amount of bacon strips onto the baking sheet.
- Cook for about 15-18 minutes or until the desired crispiness is reached.
- Remove the bacon from the oven and transfer to a plate. To avoid greasy bacon, line the plate with a paper towel!
