SALMON BOWLS
Looking for a healthy yet satisfying meal? These simple salmon bowls are the perfect choice! Packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients and topped with perfectly cooked salmon, this dish is a delightful balance of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet. Whether you’re enjoying it for lunch, dinner, or meal prep, these bowls are quick to assemble and can be customized to suit your tastes.
WHAT YOU NEED-
- Grain– I love using simple white steamed rice for salmon bowls! Either sushi rice, basmati or jasmine rice goes great with salmon.
- Salmon– Either salmon bites or salmon fillets can be used for your bowl. You can use your favorite salmon seasoning or marinade for this recipe. I love using Teriyaki Salmon Bites for this recipe.
- Cucumbers– Julienned, sliced, or chopped fresh cucumber will work in this recipe.
- Carrots– Use Julienned or shredded carrot for your salmon bowl. If you do not like carrots, you can leave them out.
- Avocado– Sliced avocado adds more flavor to these bowls and goes so well with the rest of the ingredients!
- Spicy Mayo– Either store-bought or homemade spicy mayo can be used to drizzle over these salmon bowls. The sauce adds a kick to the bowl, so delicious. LINK
- Sesame Seeds- You can use either white or black sesame seeds, or even Everything Bagel seasoning for this recipe! It is the perfect topping, but totally optional.
HOW TO MAKE SALMON BOWLS
This recipe comes together so quickly and is great for meal prepping!
- Cook the rice on the stove or in a rice cooker.
- Meanwhile, make Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon Bites according to instructions.
- Julienne the carrots and cucumbers using a julienne slicer, or with a knife cut into thin strands. Slice or cube the avocado.
- If using homemade spicy mayo, prepare the sauce and set aside.
- Divide the rice into your serving bowls. Top with salmon bites, shredded carrots, cucumbers, and sliced avocado. Drizzle the bowls with spicy mayo sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve with sushi nori wraps or just as is.
SALMON BOWL SWAPS
There are so many different variations to this salmon bowl!
- Grains– Swap out the white jasmine rice for cooked quinoa, couscous, brown rice, sushi rice, or even cauliflower rice!
- Salmon– Switch up the salmon flavoring, instead of teriyaki sauce as the marinade, use blackened seasoning, or any other of your go to seasoning blends. Use grilled baked or air fryer salmon fillets instead if you do not want salmon bites
