WHAT YOU NEED-
- Steak– For the best results, choose a lean cut of steak. Flank steak, round steak, or sirloin are all excellent options!
- Peppers– You can use any bell peppers for this recipe, I like to mix both green and red peppers together for a mix of pepper flavors.
- Onion– Red onion, sweet onion or cooking onion can be used, whichever you prefer. You can also leave out the onion and just have peppers and steak.
- Green Onion– Adding fresh green onion adds additional flavors!
- Soy Sauce– For the sauce, use either regular or low sodium soy sauce! This is the base for your Asian-inspired sauce for this pepper steak dish.
- Sugar– To balance out the soy sauce, brown sugar is added to the sauce mixture. You can swap the brown sugar out for honey.
- Water– Either water or broth (beef or chicken) will work for the sauce.
- Garlic– You can’t forget the fresh garlic! Freshly minced or jarred garlic adds more flavor to any dish or sauce.
- Cornstarch– To thicken the sauce, add cornstarch to the sauce mixture!
- Sesame Seeds– For added flavors, add sesame seeds to the homemade stir fry sauce.
