Fresh tomatoes tossed in a tangy balsamic pesto dressing, creamy burrata cheese, and fresh basil drizzle with balsamic glaze. This fresh dish gives you a burst of flavors that you won’t be able to resist. Have this caprese salad ready in under 10 minutes and serve as an appetizer, side or salad no matter the occasion.
WHAT YOU NEED-
- Tomatoes– You can use either regular tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, or a combination of both in this caprese salad. I love using fresh heirloom tomatoes during the summer!
- Onion– Adding onion is totally optional, but it definitely gives additional flavors to this dish. Either red onion or sweet onion will work. You can also leave the onion out.
- Burrata– The star of the show is the creamy burrata cheese ball! If you don’t like burrata you can just make a classic caprese salad and use mozzarella cheese balls.
- Basil– You can’t forget the fresh basil in this salad, it totally brings everything together.
- Salad Dressing– I love tossing the tomatoes in a tangy salad dressing that is a combination of olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, basil pesto, and salt. You can totally leave the basil pesto out but I highly recommend trying it with pesto!
- Balsamic Glaze– The cherry on top of this caprese salad is the balsamic glaze drizzle all over before serving this dish. You can make homemade glaze or store-bought glaze.
