OREO DELIGHT RECIPE

If you are looking for an easy, no-bake dessert, this easy Oreo Delight dessert is for you! An easy recipe that is made with layers of crushed Oreo cookies, creamy cream cheese and rich chocolate pudding. This dessert will be the first to go at any occasion, loved by both kids and adults alike. Make it for holiday, potlucks or for a weekend sweet treat.

WHAT YOU NEED-

  • Oreos– You want to be sure to use classic Oreos, not double stuffed or thin Oreos. I like to get the family-size pack for this no-bake dessert.
  • Butter– Mixing the crushed Oreos with butter helps you get a nice Oreo crust layer. You can use either salted or unsalted butter.
  • Cream Cheese– For the cream cheese layer you can use either classic or low-fat cream cheese, just be sure it is softened.
  • Vanilla– Adding vanilla bean extract or vanilla extract to the cream cheese layer gives it so many added flavors.
  • Sugar– To sweeten the cream cheese layer, this recipe calls for granulated sugar.
  • Cool Whip– You can use either cool whip or whip your own by mixing heavy whipping cream.
  • Chocolate Pudding– For this recipe you want to use instant chocolate pudding mix. Any brand will work; I like to use either the Great Value brand or the Jell-O brand of pudding mix. LINK
  • Milk– Use cold whole milk to make the chocolate pudding layer. You can also swap for 2% milk.

HOW TO MAKE NO BAKE OREO DESSERT

With just a couple simple steps, this delicious and flavorful Oreo chocolate lasagna can be ready to enjoy!

  1. Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or blender until you get fine crumbs.
  2. In a bowl, mix crushed Oreo cookies with melted butter until combined. Reserve 1 ½ cups of the crumbs for the pudding layer and for the topping.
  3. Transfer the Oreo mixture to a casserole dish and press evenly into the bottom of the dish to form a crust layer. (Add the dish to the fridge to chill as you prepare the next layer.)
  4. Blend the softened cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar until smooth. Fold in half of the cool whip to combine.
  5. Spread the cream cheese layer over the Oreo crust and spread evenly. (Add the dish to the fridge to chill as you prepare the next layer.)
  6. Whisk together the cold milk and chocolate pudding mix until it begins to thicken. Once you have thick pudding, fold in 1 cup of the reserved Oreo crumbs.
  7. Spread the pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  8. Finish off the dessert with the rest of the cool whip as the final layer.
  9. Sprinkle the top with the remaining crushed Oreos.
  10. Cover and chill in the fridge for 4–6 hours or overnight. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

OREO PUDDING CUPS

You can totally make this simple no bake Oreo chocolate lasagna into individual dessert cups! This is great for bridal or baby showers, birthday parties or any other events.

  1. Lay out your serving cups or bowls onto the counter. Divide the Oreo crumbs between all the dessert cups, adding about 1/3 cup into each cup.
  2. Divide the cream cheese layer evenly between the cups, over the Oreo layer. (You can use a piping bag for an easier and cleaner transfer.)
  3. Top the cream cheese layers with a chocolate pudding layer and then a cool whip layer. Repeat this with all the dessert cups.
  4. Sprinkle it with crushed Oreos. Transfer all the cups into the fridge and chill for 4-6 hours or overnight. (For easier transfer, add all the cups onto a tray.)
  5. Serve and enjoy!

QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE:

Why is my crust crumbly and falling apart?

Although a crumby crust is not a problem in this dessert, the cause is from it not having enough butter to solidify the crumbs.

Can I make this dessert ahead of time?

Yes! This dessert is best when made ahead of time! You want this no bake dessert to chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best results. You can make this dessert up to 2-3 days ahead of time.

How do I get clean, “neat” layers in this dessert?

The key to getting clean layers is to chill the dish after every layer, like my instructions say. This solidifies the layer making it easier to spread the next one.

How do I store Oreo delight leftovers?

Cover the leftovers and store it in the fridge for 4-5 days.

Can I freeze this no bake dessert?

Yes, this dessert freezes great! Transfer the pudding to a freezer safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Slice and thaw for 5-10 minutes and enjoy a frozen treat!

Instructions

  • Add 25 Oreo cookies to a food processor or blender and pulse until you get fine crumbs. (You may need to work in batches, try to avoid overcrowding the food processor so the cookies crush evenly.)
