These grilled bang bang shrimp skewers are bold and so flavorful! Juicy shrimp seasoned, skewered, and grilled and then smothered in a homemade bang bang sauce.
Soak the wooden skewers in cold water, as you prepare the shrimp. (This helps the skewers from catching fire when grilling.)
In a bowl, combine the mayo, sweet chili sauce and sriracha.
Peel and devein the shrimp prawns, leaving the tail on if desired. (Leave the tail on for a prettier presentation.)
Add the shrimp, oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to a bowl and mix until all the shrimp is coated in the marinade.
Thread the marinated shrimp onto the skewers, adding about 5 shrimp on each skewer. (You do not want to overcrowd the shrimp.)
Preheat the grill and clean the grill grates.
Once the grill is hot, add the shrimp skewers to the grill and cook on medium high heat for 2-3 minutes per side. (Do not overcook the shrimp. Grill just until the shrimp is pink and no longer translucent but opaque.)
Once the shrimp is cooked, turn off the heat and brush the shrimp skewers with bang bang shrimp, coating all the shrimp in the sauce.
Remove from the grill and right before serving, brush again with more sauce.
Top with freshly chopped green onions or cilantro and serve with desired immediately.
