OVEN BAKED CHICKEN WINGS

There is nothing better than crispy chicken wings that don’t contain all the deep-frying fats! The chicken wings are tossed in a flavorful spice blend and cornstarch and then baked until crispy. Whether you need an appetizer for game night or dinner, these easy wings are perfect!

WHAT YOU NEED-

  • Chicken Wings– You can use either fresh or frozen chicken wings! You can use both drumettes and wingettes for this recipe. If you are using frozen wings, be sure they are fully thawed before preparing.
  • Oil– Tossing the chicken wings ensures the seasoning and cornstarch sticks to the wings and helps give you a crispier wing!
  • Flavors– To flavor the chicken wings we use salt, pepper, garlic, Italian, and paprika! You can totally switch out the seasoning for different seasonings that you like!

HOW TO BAKE CHICKEN WINGS IN THE OVEN

These chicken wings are so easy to make and less messy than fried chicken wings!

  1. Preheat the oven and line a large baking sheet with foil.
  2. Rinse and fully pat dry the chicken wings. Add to a large bowl and toss with oil.
  3. Add in the seasonings and cornstarch and toss again until fully combined.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken wings to the baking sheet, laying all out flat, no wings overlapping each other.
  5. Bake until golden and crispy. Remove from heat and serve plain or toss in sauce.
  6. Serve with desired sides.

AIR FRYER CHICKEN WINGS

You can totally make these crispy chicken wings in the air fryer! They come out so crispy and juicy.

  1. Add the seasoned chicken wings to the air fryer basket, laying out evenly.
  2. Air fryer until crispy, tossing occasionally to allow all the wings to get crispy.
  3. Remove from the air fryer basket, serve plain or coat in sauce.
  4. Enjoy with a choice of sides.

CHICKEN WING FLAVORS

The best thing about these chicken wings is that you can switch out the flavor whether you make saucy wings or traditional dry rub wings! Dry rub wings are when you season the wings in certain flavors and then bake. Saucy wings are when you toss in a wing sauce after the wings are baked.

DRY RUB FLAVORS

You can use any of your go-to seasoning blends to season these chicken wings! From classic chicken seasoning blends to BBQ dry rub. Have fun with your seasonings! Here are some dry rub seasoning ideas:

  • Lemon Pepper– A classic wing flavor lemon pepper! Toss the wings in lemon pepper seasoning for a delicious flavor.
  • Cajun Wings– If you like a little bit of a kick, use Cajun seasoning to season your chicken wings!
  • Garlic Ranch– Toss the wings in a seasoning blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and ranch powder.
  • Blackened Wings– Use our homemade blackening seasoning and make blackened wings, so delicious!

SAUCE FLAVORS

The variety of wing sauce flavors is endless! There are so many different wing sauces you can make or buy. We love buying BWW wing sauces or any other classic wing sauce from the grocery store to level up our chicken. Here are some classic wing sauces we recommend:

  • Barbecue– BBQ is one of the most popular wing flavors! But you don’t have to stick to just plain barbecue, try honey BBQ, hot BBQ, smoked BBQ or any other barbecue you like!
  • Mild– Mild, medium or buffalo are all pretty much the same flavor, just different spice levels. We recommend the BWW garlic buffalo or Franks buffalo wing sauce.
  • Garlic Parmesan– Another classic is garlic parmesan! The loaded with flavors from the garlic, parmesan, and herbs pairs so well with chicken wings. We recommend the BWW garlic parmesan sauce or the Kinder’s Garlic Parmesan sauce.
  • Hot Honey– Toss the chicken wings in hot honey for a delicious wing flavor that is sweet yet spicy! We love Mike’s hot honey or try our homemade hot honey recipe.
  • Buffalo Ranch– Buffalo ranch has a favorite sauce flavor around here!
  • Asian Zing– If you like a sweet and spicy flavor, we recommend Asian zing sauce!
