MONSTER COOKIES
You are going to love this simple chunky monster cookie recipe! A sweet and nutty cookie loaded with oats and gooey chocolate. These cookies are great to make for holidays, parties, or even for a sweet treat on a weeknight. Monster cookies get their name because of all the ingredients in the dough, three cookie recipes combined in one!
WHAT YOU NEED-
- Flour– For the best monster cookies, be sure to use good quality all-purpose flour. Flours that are recommended: Bob’s Red Mill all-purpose flour and Arthur’s all-purpose flour.
- Baking Soda & Powder– Be sure to use fresh baking soda and baking powder to make sure your cookies rise perfectly!
- Salt– Adding salt to these chunky cookies brings out all the flavors. Topping the cookies with all-purpose flour is highly recommended.
- Butter– This recipe calls for melted unsalted butter! Be sure the melted butter is cooled, hot melted butter will kill the cookie batter.
- Sugar– Both granulated sugar and brown sugar are used in these cookies. Either dark or light brown sugar can be used.
- Peanut Butter– Be sure to use the classic creamy peanut butter for these cookies, like Jif or Skippy. We do not recommend you use Natural peanut butter or chunky peanut butter.
- Eggs– Adding eggs helps give your cookies moisture and works as a binding agent.
- Vanilla– You can have cookies without vanilla extract!
- Oats– Use old-fashioned oats for these cookies, we do not recommend that you use quick oats. This recipe is formulated with oats in mind, so you do not want to leave them out!
- M&Ms-What is a monster cookie without M&Ms?! Be sure to use the classic M&Ms for this recipe. Switch up the M&M colors according the the holiday!
- Chocolate Chips– For extra chocolate, you can use either dark, milk, or semi-sweet chocolate. Either regular morsels, mini morsels, or chocolate chunks can be used, we like to make a variety of shapes and flavors of chocolate.
