WHAT YOU NEED-
- Shrimp– You can use any size shrimp from medium to jumbo. Be sure to have the shrimp peeled and deveined, leaving the tail on is optional! (Leave the tail on for a prettier presentation.) If you are using frozen shrimp, be sure to thaw the shrimp before.
- Eggs– Using fresh eggs acts as a binder for the flour batter to stick to the shrimp better. It also adds extra flavor and gives the fried shrimp extra crisp.
- Flour– Be sure to use good quality all-purpose flour for the flour batter. This will give you a nice coating for the shrimp.
- Cornstarch– Adding cornstarch to the flour batter is the key to getting crispy and crunchy fried shrimp!
- Flavors– To season all the batters, this recipe calls for the classics, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. You can also add any other seasonings that you like.
- Bang Bang Sauce– The key to this delicious shrimp dish is the Bang Bang sauce! You can use either homemade sauce or store-bought sauce.

HOW TO MAKE BANG BANG SHRIMP

- Combine the ingredients for the homemade Bang Bang sauce in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and pepper. Add peeled and deveined shrimp to the wet batter.
- In a separate bowl or plastic bag, add the flour, cornstarch and seasonings and mix to combine.
- Transfer the dredged shrimp to the flour mixture and fully coat each shrimp. Shake off excess batter and add to a platter. Repeat until all the shrimp is coated.
- Heat oil in a large skillet until hot on medium high heat. Once hot, carefully add the battered shrimp and fry until crispy and golden on each side.
- Remove the shrimp from the oil and transfer to a paper towel lined plate, to allow excess oil to drain from the shrimp. Fry all the shrimp.

Ingredients
- 1 pound jumbo shrimp peeled and deveined
- 2 Tbsp green onion finely chopped
- oil for frying
Wet Batter-
- 2 large eggs
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp ground black pepper
Dry Batter-
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce-
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 3 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
- 1/2 tsp honey
Instructions
- Peel, devein, and remove the tails off the shrimp. Then pat dry the shrimp.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt and pepper. Add the shrimp to the wet batter mixture, ensuring all the shrimps are coated.
- Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, garlic, paprika, and black pepper in another mixing bowl.
- Take the shrimp from the wet batter, allowing any excess liquid to drip, transfer to the dry mixture. Coat the shrimp fully in the flour mixture. Add the dredged shrimp to a plate and repeat with all the shrimp.
- In a skillet or saucepan, add about 2-3 inches of oil and heat to 375°F.
- Once hot, carefully add the shrimp to the oil and fry for 1-2 minutes for side, or until golden brown. (You do not want to overcrowd the skillet, so you might need to fry the shrimp in a couple batches.)
