Bring the 8 cups of water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, remove from the heat and add the tea bags to the water and steep for 10 minutes.
After the steep time, remove the tea bags from the tea and allow the tea to completely cool.
Meanwhile, in a small saucepan add raspberries, water, sugar, and lemon juice and bring to a simmer. Once it simmers, turn down to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool. Once the raspberry syrup has cooled, use a strainer, and divide the syrup from the raspberries. Discard the mashed raspberries.
Add the cooled sweet tea to a pitcher with ice. Pour in the raspberry syrup and mix until well combined and serve. Add some fresh raspberries and lemon slices to the pitcher for aesthetic purposes, if desired.
